I had trained to be a life guard when I was younger and during high school I worked as a lifeguard at a summer camp. This little boy drowned just a few yards from the life guard. As we looked into how the drowning happened, we uncovered a series of mistakes and just plain carelessness that led to the loss of this little boy. It was heartbreaking. And it was inexcusable.
